This blog is dedicated to happenings at the grassroots level particularly issues of culture.
As it is ,various cultures within the African sub region most especially Nigeria are going into extinction.
It is noteworthy that Nigeria as a country is blessed with diverse cultures that the present generation do not know much about,it is this hiden cultures of the people that this blogger Intends to highlight.
We will take the pains to travel the nooks and crannies of the country to bring to you the rich cultural heritage of the Nigerian people but however emphasis shall initially be on kogi state,a state in North Central Nigeria called the confluence state.
It is instructive to note that
 kogi state has three major earthnic groups which Includes the the Igalas in the east, the
Okuns in the west and the Ebirras in the central.
These tribal groups along with some other smaller groups like the oworos, the Nupe, the kakanda and Bassas will be looked into.
Similarly,news of events from arround the state will be reported promptly.

Kogi State Government Approves Funds for WAEC Fees for Students in Public Schools.

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has approved funds for the payment of 2024/2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) fees for 18,734 Senior Secondary Three (SS3) students in public schools across the state.¹ This announcement was made by the Commissioner for Education, Hon.. Wemi Jones, during a press briefing in his office in Lokoja. The commissioner emphasized that the gesture is in line with the law for free examination registration fees for Kogi State students in public primary and secondary schools signed by former Governor Yahaya Bello.² He noted that the state government has committed to paying for all internal and external examinations, including the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UMTE-JAMB) and the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NAPTEB) fees for senior secondary school students.
